2023 - US Senate

Vote Description

The Rand Paul amendment to H. R. 3746 requires the Office of Management and Budget to annually prepare a report discussing whether outlays for the previous fiscal year wound up being greater than the outlay limit for that specific year. The amendment then requires the President to issue a sequestration order reducing discretionary spending if outlays were indeed found to be greater than the limit. CPAC supports efforts to impose fiscal restraints on Congress and supported this amendment. The Senate defeated this amendment on June 1, 2023 by a vote of 21-75.
