2023 - US Senate

Vote Description

The John Kennedy amendment to H. R. 3746 removes the 2030 sunset date on certain modification that the bill makes to work requirement exemptions for the US’ SNAP programs. These modifications gradually raise the upper age limit at which individuals are subject to the able-bodied adults without dependents limits to 55. CPAC supports efforts to ensure that the welfare system remain a temporary bridge between jobs and supported this amendment. The Senate defeated this amendment on June 1, 2023 by a vote of 46-51.
