CPAC Releases Oklahoma Legislative Scorecard, Revealing a Legislature and Leadership Dedicated to Furthering Key Conservative Policy Items.

ALEXANDRIA, VA (January 3, 2024) - CPAC Foundation's latest analysis reveals that Oklahoma Republicans have increasingly voted in favor of upholding conservative principles within the state government over the past few years. Overall, Republicans averaged 85.5%, a 14% increase over their average since 2020.

"Oklahoma Republicans have lots to be proud of from this last session; their passage of pro-school choice legislation, bans on radical gender surgeries for minors, and significant election reforms in a single session is no small feat." said CPAC Chairman, Matt Schlapp. "With the leadership of Governor Kevin Stitt, Speaker Charles McCall, Senate Pro Tem. Greg Treat, we expect more conservative victories from the Sooner State in the upcoming session."

CPAC recognizes several Oklahoma legislators for their conservative voting records. The following members of the Oklahoma State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Excellence for voting with the conservative position at least 90% of the time during the 2023 session:

Senate:Nathan Dahm (100%)

Rob Standridge (100%)

Warren Hamilton (95%)

Shane Jett (95%)

Cody Rogers (94%)

Joe Newhouse (93%)

Brenda Stanley (93%)

Sherrie Conley (100%)

Chris Sneed (100%)

Jay Steagall (100%)

Kevin West (100%)

Gerrid Kendrix (95%)

Jim Olsen (95%)

Rick West (95%)

Danny Williams (95%)

Ross Ford (94%)

Randy Randleman (94%)

Rande Worthen (94%)

Stan May (94%)

Cody Maynard (94%)

Chris Banning (93%)

Kevin McDugle (93%)

Terry O'Donnell (93%)

Additionally, many lawmakers in the Oklahoma State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Achievement for voting with the conservative position at least 80% of the time during the 2023 session. Their names can be found highlighted in gray within the scorecard.

The bills featured in CPAC’s 2023 Ratings of Oklahoma address national security, abortion, school choice, and Second Amendment freedoms. These issues, coupled with our mission to protect life, liberty, property and uphold the American family, created the basis by which the CPAC Foundation rated the Oklahoma legislature.

The Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA), an initiative of the CPAC Foundation, is the premier organization for holding lawmakers accountable. The CLA produces the longest-running conservative congressional scorecard and our state program is the only one in the nation that scores nearly 8,000 lawmakers in the 50 states across every policy area.
