CPAC Releases Hawaii Legislative Scorecard and Presents Hawaii with the Title of “Least Conservative State” for the Second Year in a Row.

ALEXANDRIA, VA (March 4, 2024) — CPAC Foundation’s latest analysis ranks Hawaii as the state with the lowest overall conservative rating for the second year in a row. Hawaiian legislators received an overall average score of 7% in the House and 5% in the Senate.

“Hawaii’s Supreme Court recent ruled that the undefined 'spirit of Aloha' supersedes the United States constitution. This radical ruling should come as no surprise to those that follow politics, as Hawaii has received the title of least conservative state in our ratings for a second year in a row,” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp.

The bills featured in CPAC’s 2023 Ratings of Hawaii address radical gender ideology, the environment, and abortion expansion. These issues, coupled with our mission to protect life, liberty, property and upholding the American family, created the basis by which the CPAC Foundation rated the Hawaii legislature.

The Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA), an initiative of the CPAC Foundation, is the premier organization for holding lawmakers accountable. The CLA produces the longest-running conservative congressional scorecard and our state program is the only one in the nation that scores all 8,000 lawmakers in the 50 states across every policy area.
