CPAC Releases Vermont Legislative Scorecard, Illuminating the Left’s Plan to Undermine America’s Elections.

ALEXANDRIA, VA (March 14, 2024) — CPAC Foundation’s analysis reveals several noteworthy attempts to change election laws in Vermont. In 2023, Democrat legislators amended the town charters of various municipalities to allow illegal immigrants and minors to vote. They also attempted to enact ranked-choice voting in some major areas. Though this type of legislation is not exclusive to Vermont, it is helpful to view these bills as a good sampling of what the most radical Leftists have in store for America’s election system.

“If you thought ballot harvesting was bad, Democrats in Vermont used last session to begin allowing cities to let illegal immigrants and minors vote,” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp. “If that was not offensive enough, Vermont also passed legislation allowing businesses to get sued if they misgender an employee.”

The following members of the Vermont State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Excellence for voting with the conservative position at least 90% of the time during the 2023 session

Senate:

Brian Collamore (100%)

Russ Ingalls (100%)

Additionally, several lawmakers in the Vermont State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Achievement for voting with the conservative position at least 80% of the time during the 2023 session. Their names are highlighted in gray on the scorecard.

The bills featured in CPAC’s 2023 Ratings of Vermont address abortion, election security, and DEI initiatives. These issues, coupled with our mission to protect life, liberty, property and upholding the American family, created the basis by which the CPAC Foundation rated the Vermont legislature.

The Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA), an initiative of the CPAC Foundation, is the premier organization for holding lawmakers accountable. The CLA produces the longest-running conservative congressional scorecard and our state program is the only one in the nation that scores all 8,000 lawmakers in the 50 states across every policy area.
