CPAC Statement on Biden v. Texas: SCOTUS Is Playing Politics, Not Securing Borders

Alexandria, VA — Matt Schlapp, Chairman of the Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC), released the following statement following the U.S. Supreme Court’s disappointing ruling in Biden v. Texas, which allows the Biden administration to overturn the prudent “Remain in Mexico” policy implemented by the Trump administration:

As Biden’s border crisis worsens, we are disappointed that a majority on the Supreme Court decided in Biden v. Texas to play politics rather than secure our nation’s borders.
Biden’s open border fiasco is not simply dangerous immigration policy, but it is also wreaking havoc on America’s vulnerable who are overdosing on fentanyl at alarming levels. Mass illegal border crossings are also contributing to this tragic crime wave, which sends a message to all our enemies that we do not take our own security seriously. It is no wonder America’s enemies feel emboldened to take us on overseas and undermine us in our own country.
At a time when the socialist Left’s open border policies are destroying our nation, the American people are ready for new leadership. As we have seen in recent elections across the country, voters in deep-blue districts are tired of woke ideology undermining our national security and the American way of life.
