Coalition Against Socialized Medicine Statement on President Biden Signing the Inflation Reduction Act into Law

ALEXANDRIA, VA, August 16, 2022 – The Coalition Against Socialized Medicine (CASM), a broad coalition of leading conservative groups such as the Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC), Heritage Action, FreedomWorks, the National Taxpayers Union, Club for Growth, Citizens Against Government Waste, American Commitment, and the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, issued the following statement on President Biden signing into law the Inflation Reduction Act, attributable to Jack Kalavritinos, CPAC’s Executive Director, Coalition Against Socialized Medicine.

“In an unprecedented partisan action moving the country one step closer to socialized medicine, the Left instituted harmful price controls on innovative treatments and drugs in Medicare. The so-called Inflation Reduction Act will diminish the pace of innovation and take money from research and development to pay for unrelated programs and subsidies for Obamacare. Now that they have taken a bite at the price control apple, Democrats will be back for more at the expense of American patients.”
