CASM Statement on House GOP’s “Commitment to America”

ALEXANDRIA, VA, September 28, 2022 – The Coalition Against Socialized Medicine (CASM), a broad coalition of leading conservative groups such as the Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC), Heritage Action, FreedomWorks, the National Taxpayers Union, Club for Growth, Citizens Against Government Waste, American Commitment, and the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, has issued the following statement, attributable to Jack Kalavritinos, CPAC’s Executive Director of CASM on the healthcare proposals under House Republicans’ “Commitment to America” plan:

“House Republican Leader McCarthy and his conservative colleagues recognize that socialist healthcare policies harm patients, particularly seniors, and we applaud them for offering real proposals to improve American healthcare. The principles outlined in House Republicans’ ‘Commitment to America’ are the prescriptions America needs for expanded healthcare choices, medical innovation, and lower drug costs.

“Americans deserve better than the future that President Biden and the Democrats have paved through the “so-called” Inflation Reduction Act. Instead of limiting future cures and contributing to ever-surging healthcare costs, the Commitment to America proposal calls for more innovation, increased transparency, and personalized and affordable care for all.”
